Guest Chairs

Guest chairs are the chairs across the desk from you: the seat for a visitor in a private office, a candidate in an interview room or a patient’s companion in an exam room. They have no height or tilt adjustment, which is what keeps them simple, sturdy and easy to match to the rest of a room. The models here come from SitOnIt Seating, 9to5 Seating and Offices to Go.

Every chair is filterable by frame material (metal or wood), back material (mesh, fabric, vinyl, plastic or wood), arm style (armless or fixed arms) and base (four legs, sled base, casters, or a star base). Most also stack, so the same chair can serve as a guest chair by day and be cleared away for an event. Several SitOnIt side chairs (the Wit Side Chair, for example) match their task-chair counterparts so an office can pair the two.

A sled base slides on carpet and protects floors; four legs sit more solidly on hard floors; casters suit a chair that gets pulled up to a desk; a star base gives a guest chair the look of a task chair without the mechanism.
