Executive Chairs

Executive office chairs are the high-back and mid-back chairs bought for private offices, managers’ desks and boardrooms, where the chair is seen as much as it is sat in. The models here come from SitOnIt Seating, 9to5 Seating, HON and HÅG. Every one has a tilt function, and each can be filtered by back height (high or mid back), back material (mesh, fabric, vinyl or plastic), seat material (fabric, mesh or vinyl), arm style (armless, fixed, height adjustable, or height and width adjustable), frame color (black, gray, white or polished aluminum), and by tilt lock, adjustable lumbar support and sliding seat.

Choosing between them comes down to three things. Back height: a high back supports the shoulders and reads as a traditional executive chair; a mid back is lower, lighter and easier to fit under a conference table. Material: mesh keeps the chair cool and shows the frame; fabric and vinyl give a padded, upholstered look, and vinyl wipes clean. Arms: height and width adjustable arms fit the widest range of people, fixed arms keep a cleaner line.

9to5 Seating, HON and HÅG chairs are priced on the site, from $389 for the HON Altern to $1,265 for the HÅG Capisco, and can be ordered directly.
