Stacking/Nesting Chairs

Stacking chairs and nesting chairs are the seating for rooms that change: training rooms, multipurpose spaces, cafeterias, classrooms and overflow seating that gets put away between uses. A stacking chair lifts onto the one below it; a nesting chair has a flip-up seat and casters, so a row rolls together into a nest without lifting anything. The models here come from SitOnIt Seating and 9to5 Seating.

Every chair is filterable by type (stacking or nesting) and by back material: plastic, fabric, mesh, vinyl or wood. Frames are metal, on four legs or a sled base, armless or with fixed arms. Plastic shells come in a wide color range (14 colors on the SitOnIt shells, 12 on the 9to5 shells), which is how a school or a church hall gets color into a room without upholstery to maintain. Matching stools in 24 and 30 inch seat heights are listed alongside several of the chair families.
