Educational Chairs

Educational chairs are the chairs bought by the roomful for classrooms, lecture halls, libraries, training rooms and cafeterias: light enough to move, tough enough for daily use, and made to stack or nest out of the way. The 58 classroom chairs here come from SitOnIt Seating and 9to5 Seating.

Most are stacking chairs with a molded plastic shell on a four-leg, sled or wire-rod frame: the SitOnIt Rio, Baja, Mika, Orbix, Freelance, Achieve, Lumin, Ioniq four-leg and Anytime, the Rowdy sled and the Sprout, plus the 9to5 Cavo, Kelley and Vox. Stack height matters when a room is cleared: the Sprout stacks 10 on the floor and 40 on a cart, the Rowdy 15 on the floor, the Kelley 9, the Orbix and Lumin 6. Shells come in up to 14 colors, and many models can be ordered with an upholstered or fabric seat.

Nesting chairs have a seat that flips up so the chairs roll together into a tight row for storage: the Flytech (which also stacks four high), Movi Nester, Qwiz and Relay Nester. Task versions on casters, the Lumin, Movi and Rio Light Task, Mavic, Axys and Ioniq, suit computer labs and teacher desks, and four stools (the Rio 24 inch stacking stool and the Rio, Movi and InFlex task stools) fit lab benches and counter-height tables.

Weight capacity is 300 pounds on most models, 250 on the Achieve, Anytime, Freelance, Relay and Rowdy, and 350 on the Cavo, Axys and Flytech. Most SitOnIt models list a lifetime warranty.

The 9to5 Seating chairs are priced on the site, from $175 for the Kelley Armless to $335 for the Cavo Fabric Seat, and can be ordered directly. SitOnIt Seating does not allow online checkout, so its chairs are priced by quote: add the model, quantity and options to the quote list and you get pricing and lead time for that order. Every chair ships free. For a full classroom, or a shell color that is not listed, send a quote request, email [email protected] or call 1-866-471-0236.
