Task Chairs

Task chairs are the chairs people sit in all day at a desk, so this is where adjustment matters most. The models here come from SitOnIt Seating, 9to5 Seating, HON, AIS and HÅG, and every one is filterable by the things that decide comfort: back height (low, mid or high back), back and seat material (mesh, fabric, vinyl or plastic), arm style (armless, fixed, height adjustable, or height and width adjustable), frame color (black, gray, white or polished aluminum), tilt function, tilt lock, adjustable lumbar support and a sliding seat.

A quick way to choose: a mesh back is breathable and shows the frame color; an upholstered back gives more padding. Adjustable arms suit anyone who switches between typing and reading. Adjustable lumbar support and a seat slide let one chair fit people of different heights, which is the point when the same chair is bought for a whole floor. The light task models (SitOnIt Lumin, Rio, Movi and Anytime) are simpler chairs with fewer adjustments for training rooms, hot desks and shared spaces.

9to5 Seating, HON, AIS and HÅG chairs are priced on the site, from $365 for the HON Convergence to $1,265 for the HÅG Capisco, and can be ordered directly. SitOnIt Seating does not allow online checkout, so its task chairs are priced by quote: add the model and options to the quote list and you get pricing and lead time for that configuration. Every chair ships free.
